Verizon Wireless - EXPOSED !!

Here is an brief excerpt from Verizon's Code of Conduct:

INTEGRITY
Integrity is at the heart of everything we do. We are honest, ethical and upfront because trust is at the foundation of our relationships with our customers, our communities, our stakeholders and each other.

RESPECT
We know it is critical that we respect everyone at every level of our business. We champion diversity, embrace individuality and listen carefully when others speak.

ACCOUNTABILITY
We take responsibility for our actions as individuals, as team members, and as an organization. We work together, support one another and never let the customer — or our coworkers — down.
Verizon Wireless's intergrity and respect has been thrown out the door with the sale of the image of a murderer. Now it's time for them to be accountable for their actions !! Let's see if they follow their own Code of Conduct.

Sprint - EXPOSED !!

Here is another example of the lack of corporate social respondsibility from another company part of "Corporate America".

Sprint Nextel - Code of Conduct - At the end of page 4 of the actual document you will find what is writen below:

Making Ethical Decisions...When in Doubt, Ask Yourself…
• Could it harm Sprint Nextel’s reputation?
• Is it ethical and legal?
• What would my family and friends say?
• How would it look in the newspaper?
• Would I bet my job on it?
• Should I check with my supervisor?
• How would my action appear to others?

If you are unsure about the answer, you should ask your supervisor who is in the best position to answer your question. If you prefer not to contact your supervisor, contact the Ethics Helpline to seek assistance.
It seems like someone didn't ask themselves those questions or follow instructions.

Univision Mobile Is Selling A Murderer's Face

It seems like the "Cantinflas re-run" champions, Univision that is, has done it again. Back on 9/14/2006, Babalu Blog posted about che guevara's image being sold on Univision Movil: Orgullo Latino. Although Univision never took it off, now they have new 6 images of the butcher de La Cabaña for sale, all for the cheap price of $2.00 each. Not only Corporate America is doing it, but now Hispanic companies also !! What bothers me is the lack of sensitivity been shown towards Cubans and what they have suffered for almost half a century. No where in Univision Movil (Mobile) do you see them selling Hitler's face, Stalin's face, Saddam Hussein's face, etc. They would not dare do that. The reason many profit from che guevara's image is because many feel he was a "revolutionary hero". What they don't know or do not care to acknowledge is that he was a murderer and a incompetent coward. Again, it all stems from the lack of sensitivity towards the Cuba cause. That will change "One Company At A Time !!" I have listed below the contact information for the appropiate parties who need to be contacted.

I could not find a 1 (800) for Univision so here is their local number:

Cingular, or should I say, The New AT&T has done it AGAIN !! Can you believe it. About 10 months ago, Babalu Blog informed all of us that Cingular was selling the image of the "butcher of La Cabaña" as a graphic to put in your phone. Due to the constant phone calls and e-mailing to Mark Siegel, the image was removed. Well guess what, it's BACK !! Another graphic of the murderous coward is up for sell. Please e-mail Mark Siegel and call profusely AT&T customer service and express your discontent. Enough is enough !!

I am proud to announce that the butcher de La Cabaña graphic is no longer avaliable for purchase at AT&T Wireless. You know how the old saying goes, the 3rd times the charm. Social responsibility, who needs it, right AT&T ?? Keep up the good job !!
