A Must Read

As I have mentioned before, The Moncada Attack: The Birth of the Cuban Revolution, is a great book for those who are not familiar with events of that day. Also, the book is great for those who heard the "official" version from the Cuban government. This book discredits a lot of the myths and lies behind that day.

The death of revolutionary combatant Abel Santamaría appears as a particularly grim chapter of official Cuban history, but a new book that took 31 years to research and write challenges the Cuban government's version of events.

Captured during the raid on the Moncada army barracks in Santiago de Cuba on July 26, 1953, Santamaría reportedly was tortured by the soldiers, who plucked out his eyes and showed them to his sister, Haydée, who also was captured during the failed attack.

Anoche, el programa de Oscar Haza, A Mano Limpia, en el canal 41 de Miami fue totalmente dedicado al asalto al cuartel moncada. Especialmente, se hablo de los mitos del asalto. Unos de los invitados fue el Dr. Antonio De La Cova, autor de el libro: The Moncada Attack: The Birth of the Revolution. El señor de la Cova, ha investigado los hechos del asalto por los ultimos 31 años. Para los que no saben que sucedio ese dia, tienen que ver el programa de anoche. Estaba muy interesante.
