Estefangate

Well, well, well, Gloria Estefan and crew have done it again. Back in March, I alerted the guys at Babalu Blog that our "beloved" Gloria Estefan would be releasing her new album in September. It so happens that for the album, titled "90 Millas" (90 Miles - the distance between Cuba and the U.S.) she had invited Carlos "che lover" Santana to collaborate with her. At that point, I started a petition to protest her CD. As of last week, I had collected over 2,000 signatures from all over the world. Yes, the same Carlos Santana who arrived to the 2005 Oscars on the red carpet with a che guevara t-shirt on. He also sang on stage with Antonio Bandereas a song from the Motorcycle Diaries movie with his che guevara t-shirt on. Here's the proof:

It is not clear whether the Estefans sat down with their buddy and explained to him the atrocities that the butcher de La CabaƱa committed while he was Cuba's chief executioner. My answer to that is: Who cares !! The point here is that the Estefans are fully aware of who che guevara is. They decided on their own to invite Santana knowing fully what he did on the red carpet of the 2005 Oscars. Or did they ?? Are they that disconnected with the outside world ??

A great error was committed in March by the Estefans and now we find out that the they have chosen the first single to be released from their album. It is the song that Santana is part of !! Not only did they slap us in the face with the addition of Santana, but now they slapped us again. I was insulted the first time and I continue to feel that way. We have been betrayed by one of our own !! When you think of Cuba, 3 names quickly pop into your head: 1) Celia Cruz 2) Willy Chirino and 3) Gloria Estefan. Gloria and Emilio Estefan have really let down the Cuban community with all of this. They have not come out in public and tried to fix this. Yes, they released a press release, but it was garbage and weak.

They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they have treated their fans and fellow Cubans. It was very insensitive the way they have handled all of this. If only they would have taken the time to actually think all of this through and think of the repercussions that could come out of all of this. That is what get's me so upset. They know better. They lived it. They breathed it. They escaped it !! Because of people like che guevara she fled Cuba as a 16 month old baby !! Her dad fought in the Bay of Pigs !! And now she is going to collaborate with someone who idolizes the guy who murdered hundreds of her brother's and sister's. SHAME ON YOU, Gloria and Emilio Estefan !!

Let me make something very clear. I am in NO way implying that Gloria nor Emilio Estefan are communist.

Here is part of a verse in Gloria's song - No Llores:

Si del amor mucho se aprende
Se aprende mas de los errores

Really ?? I don't think so. You have shown us that you have not learned a damn thing from your mistakes !! You slapped us once, and now you slap us again. Trust me, I am not getting slapped a third time. I am done with you and your music !!

Another Anti-che Supporter

Cassandra Wilson from The Australian, writes a great article on exactly what the title says "The bitter truth about che Guevara." We need more columnists like her who are not blinded by the che euphoria. There are too many people out there who don't really know what che did because they are not personally connected, but they just wear the shirts and all the other garbage because it's "COOL". If there were more people like Wilson, Jay Nordlinger, and our great anti-che author, Humberto Fontova, the myth would have been crushed years ago.

Excerpt:

"Executions?" Guevara told the UN General Assembly in 1964. "We execute! And we will continue executing as long as it is necessary."

The digest may also include the fact that Cuban women had three months' maternity leave before the revolution but not after. Cuba had more female university graduates than the US before the revolution but not after. Cubans had the eight-hour day before the revolution but not after. For all those sensibly upset about Australia's lack of compassion for refugees, I would urge them to consider that before Guevara's revolution, Cuba accepted more immigrants per head of population than the US. Indeed, more Americans moved to Cuba than Cubansmoved to the US. Fontova makes the point that actor Angelina Jolie, a UN ambassador for refugees, has a tattoo of Guevara, a man who helped generate a refugee crisis that continues to this day. Sharks off the coast of Florida continue to be pleased with Guevara's revolution.

Che Guevara's image graces many a T-shirt worn in the US. Wearing one of these seems to be intended as a statement that it is good to be free of the crushing norms of a civilization tricked up by dead white men.

T
he T-shirt image depicts a long-haired 1960’s hippy gazing steadfastly into the future.

Investor's Business Daily Get's It

There are not that many in the MSM that REALLY understand who and what che guevarra was. Investor's Business Daily does not have on blindfolds as most of Hollywood and the MSM do. Please read Investor's Business Daily great article and interview with Humberto "El Cirujano" Fontova, author of "Exposing The Real Che Guevara and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him."

Excerpt:
The only problem with this romance is there's not a wisp of truth to it. Guevara was a deadly "killing machine" whose legacy was to enslave and impoverish Cuba.
