Seems like April Fool's came a few months early. Cuba announced today that staring early 2009, it will allow the U.N. Human Rights Council to monitor their human rights record. As the announcement was made, plain clothes state "gestapos" were preventing a march from taking place protesting Cuba's violation of human rights. That gives a new meaning to the term "two face".

Minutes after he spoke, plainclothes policemen broke up a small demonstration by
dissidents marking International Human Rights Day in a nearby square. Two were
detained and driven away in a car, a witness said.

Government
supporters, apparently coordinated by state security agents, booed dissidents
and shouted "Viva Fidel" for ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro, who has not
appeared in public in 16 months.

Cuban Interdiction at a 13 year high

According to this Miami Herald article, the interdiction of Cuban is at its highest level since the 1994 crisis. There has also beena steady increase since the July 2006 "handover of power".

"The year 2007 will go down in the history of South Florida as the year with the greatest number of Cuban migrant interdictions since the 1994 raft crisis."

It seems that police in Brazil have found the two boxers who defected from their Cuban team during the Pan Am Games. What's interesting is that they want to return to Cuba. Iguess the Cuban government has threatend their families if they do not return back to Cuba. That is very typical of Cuba.

Two Cuban boxers who disappeared during last month's Pan American Games were found at a resort near Rio, where police say they partied and ran up an
exorbitant tab.

Now, a police inspector says, they want to go back to Cuba.

Two-time Olympic boxing champion Guillermo Rigondeaux and Erislandy Lara were found Thursday at an inn in the coastal resort city Cabo Frio.

"We still have to clear up the reason why they abandoned their delegation and now want to return," federal police inspector Felicio Laterca said. "Right now, they are only saying they are very dear athletes in their country and that's why they want to return."

Released today was a report from the University of Miami that says Venezuela is sending to Cuba annually $4 billion in oil shipments. That total is up $1 billion more than last year.
The value of Venezuelan oil subsidies to Cuba climbed past $3 billion in 2006 and could swell to $4 billion this year -- almost double current estimates, according to a University of Miami report to be released today.

Venezuela is propping up Cuba's troubled economy with shipments of 94,103 barrels of oil a day, experts at UM's Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies (ICCAS) calculated, based on official Havana figures issued last week. That means Cuba last year got some $3.3 billion in oil products from Venezuela, up from $2.7 billion in 2005. Caracas has declined to explain the payment system, but experts believe Havana gets the energy assistance free of charge.

AT&T, by the way, was selling cell phones with Che's image on them and, just last week, they yanked them, stopped selling them because we protested - we mounted a phone and email program against the company. AT&T apologized, saying the image should not have been there in the first place and then yanked the product. Target was selling CD cases with Che's face this past Christmas. We protested again, and they yanked the product.

Cybercast News Service: Do you think it's morally fair to equate the placement of Guevara's image on a product to placing Heinrich Himmler's image on a product or Levrenti Beria's image on a product?

Humberto Fontova: Probably not, only because of the ignorance. My guess is that 70 percent or 80 percent who buy Che's image and post it on their product - the product managers - have no idea who Che is. They have a vague idea that he was a cool, revolutionary guy, but they have no idea about what he really did. If AT&T
was telling the truth, it's a perfect example when they said "this guy's image shouldn't have been there in the first place." That confirms what I think. Most people who put the image on a product don't know all the details.

Yet the liberal-left and Hollywood are perpetuating myths, if not outright lies, about Guevara, according to author Humberto Fontova in his book, "Exposing the Real Che Guevara and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him."

Fontova discussed with Cybercast News Service his new book and what he describes as the real Guevara - the man who directly helped Castro put into place a communist regime responsible for at least 102,000 deaths and which has cycled 500,000 people through its gulag.

''Whatever new administration emerges will have to decide if it will maintain the absurd, illegal and failed policy toward Cuba, or if it will accept the olive branch that we extended,'' he said. ``If the new U.S. authorities finally put aside their arrogance and decide to talk in a civilized manner, they're welcome. If not, we are willing to continue confronting their policy of hostility, even for another 50 years, if that becomes necessary."

Today, invisible big brother says from the deep layers of the Earth, in hell, that there will be no dialogue with the "evil empire",

"Let nobody come under the illusion that the empire, which carries within itself the seeds of its own destruction, will negotiate with Cuba," Castro said Wednesday in an article published by Cuban media.

So what is it ?? Is he or is he not running the government from his rocking chair in the nursing home ?? I thought he was making phones calls and delegating duties from his hospital bed ?? Like we said all along, they are all full of shit !! They lied to all of you that believed it. Now, fidel castro says that the government will "march ahead without him." No shit !! I could have told you that awhile ago. Little by little we will all find out the complete truth about what the hell is going on in Cuba.

We started off being informed of his intestinal emergency surgery about 4-5- days later. It was labled a state secret. Now, we find out that the government will march with out him. Every few months the missing pieces of the puzzle are given to us.

Convalescing Cuban leader Fidel Castro said on Wednesday that Cuba is "marching ahead" without him at the helm, adding to the view of many Cubans that he is not coming back.

In a cryptic message to the country one year after bowel surgery forced him to hand over power temporarily to his brother Raul for the first time since Cuba's 1959 revolution, Castro said nothing about resuming office.

"I am being bombarded now with questions about when I will return to what some call power," he wrote in a column published on the front page of the Communist Party newspaper Granma.

"Raul, the party, the government and the mass and social organizations, led by the workers, are marching ahead guided by the unbreakable principle of unity," he said.

Another Edition of the U.N. (Non) Human Rights Council

Back in July, I wrote a post about this disgraceful organization and how we should stop funding this garbage. This article sheds more light on this topic ans hopefully one day funding will stop. It is nice to see that there are poeple out there that see it the same way we do.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing dealt last week with the United Nations Human Rights Council performance. The newly named council was formed last year to replace the U.N. Commission on Human Rights. Last month, the Senate committee approved legislation proposed by Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., to end U.S. funding of the commission. Coleman pointed out that the watchdog group's almost exclusive focus on Israel and its failure to investigate other countries made it a "disgrace" and that the council "has essentially one issue on the agenda: Israel. You have got countries like North Korea, Burma, Zimbabwe, where you have state-sponsored brutality, and what we have from the council is deafening silence."

"While the public can come to our College Park, Md., research room to view films and even copy them at no charge, this new program will make our holdings much more accessible to millions of people who cannot travel to the Washington, DC area," Archivist of the United States Allen Weinstein said in a statement.

The first six DVDs are already selling on Amazon.com, said Stacey Hurwitz, a spokeswoman for CustomFlix.

The newsreels include scenes of the famous 1959 "Kitchen Debate" between then-Vice President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev in a model American kitchen on display in Moscow. Other footage shows a youthful Fidel Castro after the communist revolution in Cuba, along with reports about Hawaii becoming a state.

Why doesn't the MSM show this ?? Why don't they show the good side of the troops instead of flooding their news broadcasts with negative stories of OUR troops ?? or when they are killed ?? As I have mentioned before, The Moncada Attack: The Birth of the Cuban Revolution, is a great book for those who are not familiar with events of that day. Also, the book is great for those who heard the "official" version from the Cuban government. This book discredits a lot of the myths and lies behind that day.

The death of revolutionary combatant Abel Santamaría appears as a particularly grim chapter of official Cuban history, but a new book that took 31 years to research and write challenges the Cuban government's version of events.

Captured during the raid on the Moncada army barracks in Santiago de Cuba on July 26, 1953, Santamaría reportedly was tortured by the soldiers, who plucked out his eyes and showed them to his sister, Haydée, who also was captured during the failed attack.

I Can't See It

According to the Associated Press, they interviewed more than two dozen Cuban immigrants who recently arrived in Florida and they say that TV Marti can not be seen outside of Havana. Obviously, the Cuban government is still successfully jamming TV Marti's signal even though 10 months ago the U.S. started using a new Gulf Stream jet that was supposed to diminish the jamming capabilities of the Cuban government. Not the case. Get it fixed guys. This is costing U.S. taxpayers $20 million a year.

This caught my attention while reading the article:

But U.S. Reps. Bill Delahunt, D-Mass., Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., and Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., are pushing for hearings on the Marti stations for the fall, and congressional investigators began reviewing management of the Marti's last month.

The funny thing is that the "3 Puppeteers" mentioned above have all gone to Cuba. Yes, that's right, Delahunt, Rangel, and Flake have traveled to the Caribbean prison. Delahunt and Flake were part of the largest U.S. delegation from Congress to travel to Cuba since 1959. How bias will they idiots be when discussing TV Marti issues ?? Will they be castro's voice in Congress ??

House Rep. Charlie "Cara de Papa" Rangel proposed an amendment that was defeated today by a vote of 245-182. The amendment would have allowed Cuban officials to travel to the U.S. to inspect U.S. export facilities and products and let Cubans make direct payments to U.S. banks for any purchases. What the hell !! Is this guy serious ?? Rangel for years has been trying to lift the embargo and has been defeated every time. Let's not forget that Charles Rangel had his 2002 trip to Cuba subsidized by the Cuban government.

The House on Friday rejected an initiative to ease restrictions on U.S. agricultural exports to Cuba, virtually burying any chance that U.S. policy toward the island could be relaxed by Congress this year.

By a 245-182 margin, the House voted down an amendment presented by Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., that would have allowed Cuban officials to travel to the United States to inspect U.S. export facilities and products and let Cubans make direct payments to U.S. banks for any purchases.

The initiative would have also allowed the Cubans to pay for the goods after they are shipped from a U.S. port, rather than before as now required.

That is what ex-CIA analyst, Brian Lattell, told Radio France Internationale. He was informed by senior military sources that the U.S. has been in contact with Cuba for some time now. Very important news if true. I have always said that the U.S. has a secret relationship with Cuba. Ever since Kennedy, no other U.S. president has done anything. I guess they can not violate the secret agreement established between Kennedy and Krushkov during the Cold War.

We have caught Cuban spies in the U.S. and working in our government. I can only imagine what would happen if we find an Al-Qaeda or Taliban member spying within our goverment. Would it be considered an act of war ??Why hasn't something been done to liberate the 11 million Cuban prisoners stuck on the island ?? We have Cuba 90 miles from away, why hasn't something been done ??
Brian Latell, who wrote a biography of Cuba's interim leader Raul Castro, told Radio France Internationale he was informed by senior US military sources that they had been in contact with the Cuban military for some time.

"If this is confirmed to be true, it would be a very important event," he said.

Below is part of a transcript from the Hannity and Colmes show. I was reading through it and found an interesting part in which former speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, mentions fidel castro. Do the right words come out of his mouth because he is a politician or does he really get it ?? You decide !!

GINGRICH: I think Senator Obama is an authentic voice of the left. I think meeting with Fidel Castro makes perfect sense if you come from the American left because the American left fears the U.S. military. They fear the CIA. They fear the American government. They never fear our enemies. It would make perfect sense for him to openly announce he will visit with virtually any dictator in the planet who would be willing to have him.

COLMES: The American left never fears our enemies but fears the American government. I thought it was the conservatives, the Goldwater conservatives who spoke out against the government. It was Ronald Reagan who said one of the great lies is, "I'm from the government, I'm here to help you."

I thought it was conservatives to heard the government but to say those on the left don't fear our enemies and don't want to protect this country which is what you seem to be implying is just inaccurate.

GINGRICH: I just suggested that it made perfect sense for Senator Obama given his base of his support on the left to feel comfortable going to see Fidel Castro. There is this wonderfully romantic notion on the part of people who never look in Fidel's prisons, never look what he does to poets and never look at what he does to people in democracy. Never look at what happens with people who flee the country. My daughter lives in Key Biscayne and was telling me over the weekend that they routinely have people land from Cuba trying to flee terror.

It's just interesting that on the American left somehow Castro is a romantic.

Today marks the one year anniversary that fidel castro was last seen in public in Cuba. He delivered the usual bullshit speech celebrating the ill-fated Moncada Barracks attack of 1953. Where is he ?? That is the million dollar question. All I have heard is that he will not appear today and deliver his usual 8 hour speech. Praise the lord !! This is the first time that castro will miss the 26th de Julio "celebrations. That's how bad he is doing. He would never have missed an event like this if he would have been fine as the official press in Cuba insists.

Tres boricuas llegan a las finales de boxeo.

Parece que McWilliams Arroyo le agarró la medida a los cubanos en el ring.

El mosca boricua dio otro batacazo el miércoles al derrotar en el segundo asalto al favorito cubano Yoandry Salinas en la división de los 51 kilos, para avanzar a la disputa del oro en esta división del boxeo de los Juegos Panamericanos.

Arroyo, quien aseguró al menos la medalla de plata, se enfrentará en la final ante el dominicano Juan Carlos Payano, quien vapuleó al mexicano Braulio Avila 20-4.

Arroyo estaba abajo 4-3 al tocar el campanazo del segundo asalto, pero sorprendió al cubano con un gancho de izquierda para enviarlo a la lona. El árbitro le hizo un breve conteo y decidió parar el combate. El cubano se quejó e hizo gestos de que quería seguir peleando.

fidel castro is not going to give the annual "Revolution Day" address according to a communist newspaper in Cuba. The speech will be given by his sister, raul castro, who has been the interim dictator since July 31, 2006. This does not surprise me one bit.

For months now, we have been told by officials in Cuba that fidel castro will return to take command of his dictatorship. Not once has castro been seen in person or live on TV. He is only shown on taped footage which the government can manipulate and edit.
Raul Castro - not his convalescing 80-year-old brother Fidel - will give this week's Revolution Day address, the latest sign the defense minister's yearlong caretaker role is becoming much more permanent.

The announcement Wednesday on the front page of the Communist Party daily Granma doused the few remaining hopes among Fidel Castro's ardent supporters he could make a surprise appearance during Thursday's Revolution Day celebrations.

4. castro's Arrival In Havana - January 8 - On this date, castro and Co. rolled into Cuba to celebrate their "victory" over Batista.
5. May Day - May 1 - What better day to come out and make an appearance ?? There were almost a 100,000 Cubans in attendance and the international press present. If he is as "OK" as his government says, why not take the opportunity offered to him on May Day ??
6. 26 de Julio - July 26 - This day marks the anniversary of the ill-fated Moncada Barracks attack.

Folks, castro is not doing as good as his government says. He has had plenty of chances to show his mug and nothing. We all know that he loves to make an appearance and loves the attention on him. He is going downhill and it's just a matter of time !!

Woman Sues castro

A woman in Maine filed suit in May, but the judge delayed action until July because he pondering on how to serve the papers to castro and the Cuban government.

A Maine woman has filed a lawsuit against Fidel Castro, alleging the Cuban leader caused the wrongful death of her father after the plane he was piloting was shot down over the communist Caribbean island and he was imprisoned while on a covert mission in 1963.

Sherry Sullivan filed her suit in Maine in May, but the judge delayed action until last week while considering how to serve papers to the defendants, who also include Castro's brother Raul, the Cuban army and the Republic of Cuba

Pésima cobertura médica en Antilla

Sólo primeros auxilios fue la asistencia que le dieron los médicos a Jorge Luís Ochoa luego de sufrir un accidente al impactarse en su motocicleta contra un coche tirado por caballo el pasado 19 de junio en horas de la noche.

Llegó en extrema gravedad con varios traumatismos corporales y una herida en el tórax por la perforación con una de las barras de hierro del carruaje que amenazaba seriamente su vida y requería someterlo a una intervención quirúrgica.

Varias personas lo socorrieron y llevaron al instante para el cuerpo de guardia del hospitalito Ramón Pérez Latour, institución de salud de la localidad de Antilla, en la provincia Holguín, donde sucedió el lamentable suceso.

Los médicos de familia, privados de la asistencia de especialistas para asumir ese tipo de casos, lo recibieron y tomaron las medidas paliativas a su alcance, además, notificaron a la central de ambulancias en la cabecera provincial para el traslado urgente del paciente.

En Holguín confundieron la dirección y enviaron la ambulancia para Mayarí, otro municipio de la provincia y cuando retornó por el accidentado era tarde. A las pocas horas del infortunio Jorge Luís Ochoa murió sin alternativa para los galenos de hacer mucho por ayudarle.

El preso político Frank Pérez Calixto es víctima del actuar inhumano de las autoridades del penal Cuba Sí, en la provincia de Holguín.

Según dijo a este reportero Juan Luis Rodríguez Desdín, se negaron a llevar a Pérez Calixto al hospital, porque, según los militares, no tenían transporte.

Pérez Calixto tiene un grave padecimiento de la próstata, por lo que requiere atención medica urgente.

It looks like medical schools in the U.S. are not that good for 8 students that just graduated from medical school in Cuba and another enrolled 100 who decided to attend medical school on the island instead of the U.S. The article states that their education was paid for by Cuba's communist government !! How many get their medical school paid for in Cuba ?? The student's held a press conference with communist Cuba supporter, Rev. Lucius Walker, leader of Pastors for Peace. Another example of the Cuban government deciding to take care of foreigners before taking care of their own.

Preso Politico - Luis Campos Corrales

Gregoria Corrales, madre del reo, comunicó por teléfono este día 24 de julio con Juan Carlos González Leiva, secretario ejecutivo del Consejo de Relatores de Derechos Humanos de Cuba, y expresó su desesperación, pues Campos Corrales padece de otras enfermedades crónicas, como por ejemplo, la gota y está semi invalido en la enfermería de la mencionada cárcel, donde no le dan los servicios médicos que su estado de salud necesita.

La madre del reo agregó que los oficiales le dicen a su hijo que se esté tranquilo que muy pronto será trasladado a otro centro carcelario.

Well, well, well, Gloria Estefan and crew have done it again. Back in March, I alerted the guys at Babalu Blog that our "beloved" Gloria Estefan would be releasing her new album in September. It so happens that for the album, titled "90 Millas" (90 Miles - the distance between Cuba and the U.S.) she had invited Carlos "che lover" Santana to collaborate with her. At that point, I started a petition to protest her CD. As of last week, I had collected over 2,000 signatures from all over the world. Yes, the same Carlos Santana who arrived to the 2005 Oscars on the red carpet with a che guevara t-shirt on. He also sang on stage with Antonio Bandereas a song from the Motorcycle Diaries movie with his che guevara t-shirt on. Here's the proof:

It is not clear whether the Estefans sat down with their buddy and explained to him the atrocities that the butcher de La Cabaña committed while he was Cuba's chief executioner. My answer to that is: Who cares !! The point here is that the Estefans are fully aware of who che guevara is. They decided on their own to invite Santana knowing fully what he did on the red carpet of the 2005 Oscars. Or did they ?? Are they that disconnected with the outside world ??

A great error was committed in March by the Estefans and now we find out that the they have chosen the first single to be released from their album. It is the song that Santana is part of !! Not only did they slap us in the face with the addition of Santana, but now they slapped us again. I was insulted the first time and I continue to feel that way. We have been betrayed by one of our own !! When you think of Cuba, 3 names quickly pop into your head: 1) Celia Cruz 2) Willy Chirino and 3) Gloria Estefan. Gloria and Emilio Estefan have really let down the Cuban community with all of this. They have not come out in public and tried to fix this. Yes, they released a press release, but it was garbage and weak.

They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they have treated their fans and fellow Cubans. It was very insensitive the way they have handled all of this. If only they would have taken the time to actually think all of this through and think of the repercussions that could come out of all of this. That is what get's me so upset. They know better. They lived it. They breathed it. They escaped it !! Because of people like che guevara she fled Cuba as a 16 month old baby !! Her dad fought in the Bay of Pigs !! And now she is going to collaborate with someone who idolizes the guy who murdered hundreds of her brother's and sister's. SHAME ON YOU, Gloria and Emilio Estefan !!

Let me make something very clear. I am in NO way implying that Gloria nor Emilio Estefan are communist.

Michael Moore claims that Cuba's Stalinist regime played it as straight with him during the filming of Sicko as he plays it with its viewers.

"I asked them to give us [the 9/11 workers featured in the documentary] the same care they give their own Cuban citizens," he assured us "No more, no less. And that's what they did."

How stupid can you be ?? You go to a country in which the only government is a dictatorship and tell them to give you the same treatment they would give a citizen of their's and expect nothing less. You are either naive or ignorant !!

Is Obama really the right guy ?? I don't think and after tonight's comment many of you will say the same thing. During tonight's Democratic presidential debate in South Carolina, presidential hopeful, Barack Hussein Obama, was asked:

"Would you be willing to meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?"

Obama responds:
"I would, and the reason is this: the notion that somehow not talking to countries is somehow punishing them, which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration, is ridiculous.''
His reasoning for his comment was that Ronald Regan and former Democratic presidents had conversations with the Soviet Union during the "Evil Empire" days.

This is the comment that gets me:
"And I think it is a disgrace that we have not spoken to them.''
Really? Mr. Obama, Would you have sat down with Hitler and reasoned with him? Stalin? Pol Pot? I think you are a disgrace.

As much as I dislike Hillary Clinton, she did have her head screwed on correctly tonight when she said:
"I will not promise to meet with the leaders of these countries during my first year. I don't want to be used for propaganda purposes and don't want to make a situation even worse, but I certainly agree that we need to get back to diplomacy, which has been turned into a bad word by this administration.''
The key phrase is: "used for propaganda purposes." That is what Obama will be used for if he ever makes a trip to Cuba.

27 Cubans Land on Sanibel Island -UPDATED !!

Welcome !! Twenty seven fellow Cuban brother's and sister's landed on Sanibel Island (north of Naples) just after 9:40pm this Sunday night. It is not known initially the ages or sexes of the 27, but it was reported that one child was among the group. They were processed at the Sanibel Police Department and then transported to Krome Detention Center in Miami. Stay tuned for more info.

For the fourth time in 18 months, a large group of Cuban migrants landed on Sanibel Island. A group of 27 migrants landed near Bowman's Beach on Sanibel
Island

Sanibel Police Chief William Tomlinson confirmed that 27 Cubans landed about half a mile east of Bowman’s Beach on the southern side of the island on Sunday night. One child was among the group.

Everyone appears to be healthy, Tomlinson said.“We had the medics check them out, and there were no serious health problems,” he said. But the problem of migrants landing on the island is starting to get serious, Tomlinson said.

The guy in the picture had no idea that his wife and two kids had left Cuba and were in Miami. He recieved a call from his wife on Monday morning letting him know that she and the kids were safe and in Miami. He last hugged his kids two years ago.

It seems like Hugo Chavez has taken another page out of his daddy's "Communist for Dummies" book. This time he says he will not tolerate any foreigners criticizing his government while in Venezuela. If so, they will be expelled. He has ordered his officials to monitor all comments and statement made by international figures while in Venezuela.

How long are we going to allow a person — from any country in the world — to come to our own house to say there's a dictatorship here, that the president is a tyrant, and nobody does anything about it?" Chavez asked during his weekly television and radio program.

The Venezuelan leader's statements came after Manuel Espino, the president of Mexico's conservative ruling party, criticized Chavez during a recent pro democracy forum in Caracas.
Hypocrisy at its finest !! You can come to OUR country and criticize OUR President, but now you don't like it if an international figure comes into your country and says the TRUTH about you !! What's next ?? Are you going to cry for MOMMY ?? Bastard !!

Cassandra Wilson from The Australian, writes a great article on exactly what the title says "The bitter truth about che Guevara." We need more columnists like her who are not blinded by the che euphoria. There are too many people out there who don't really know what che did because they are not personally connected, but they just wear the shirts and all the other garbage because it's "COOL". If there were more people like Wilson, Jay Nordlinger, and our great anti-che author, Humberto Fontova, the myth would have been crushed years ago.

It seems that a Reuters reporter isn't part of the crowd "acclaiming" Michael Moore's latest garbage, SICKO. He was able to dig through the pile of crap Moore's new documentary presented and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although I do not agree with some parts of the article, there are some good parts in there.

In the article the reporter writes:

But the hospital where SICKO's patients were treated is an exception in Cuba, where patients of many other hospitals complain they have to take their own sheets and food.

The building with a majestic high-ceiling lobby was meant to be Cuba's central bank when it was started by U.S.-backed dictator Fulgencio Batista. Completed years after Castro's revolution, it was turned into Cuba's top hospital.

The 750-bed Hermanos Almejeiras is Cuba's main hospital for heart and liver transplants with a staff of 500 doctors and 800 nurses.
You are absolutely correct. Many Cubans have to take a lot of the essentials when they go to Cuban hospitals or clinics. In the U.S. there is no need for that. Everything is already there. Not many Cubans can attend the hospital where Moore took the workers to get treated.

This is where Michael Moore should have taken his workers to get treated. He would have seen the health care system "heralded around the world" as one of the best. This is what free health care - The Real Cuba.

News like this bothers me. I am aware that there were two movies of the butcher de La Cabaña scheduled to be released next year. What I did not know is these two movies combined have a budget of $70 million. Also, Spanish partners have contributed 25% of the total budget. It's nice to see that our "Mother Country" has our back........way back. Thanks.

The part that bothers me the most is that Andy Garcia spent 16 years with the vision of the movie in his heart. None of the big movie companies wanted to back the movie financially. He produced, directed, and starred in his own movie. Now for two movies about the life of the assassin, an easy $70 million can be pulled together. All Gracia needed was $9 million for his "dream" to become reality.

The boss of Imperial Tabacco, Gareth Davies, is going to travel to Cuba after the announcement yesterday that his company made an offer to aquire Altadis. The reason for the trip is to secure Cuban government support for the deal. Why does he need support from the Cuban government, you may ask? Here's the clincher: The Cuban government can exercise a change of control clause that it has over Corporacion Habaneros in Cuba. Altadis operates the 50/50 joint venture in Cuba. Davies hopes the Cuban government will support the aquisition.

The Tale Of Two Massacres

This is a very interesting article from Guillermo I. Martinez, columnist of the Sun Sentinel. In this article he talks about two massacres in Cuba's history that occurred 27 and 14 years ago respectively, the massacre of the innocents on the vessel "Rio Canimar" and the "13 de Marzo" vessel. Both of these events occurred in July and the 11 million prisoners living in Cuba were not notified of the tragic events. It seems like the "Cantinflas re-run" champions, Univision that is, has done it again. Back on 9/14/2006, Babalu Blog posted about che guevara's image being sold on Univision Movil: Orgullo Latino. Although Univision never took it off, now they have new 6 images of the butcher de La Cabaña for sale, all for the cheap price of $2.00 each. Not only Corporate America is doing it, but now Hispanic companies also !! What bothers me is the lack of sensitivity been shown towards Cubans and what they have suffered for almost half a century. No where in Univision Movil (Mobile) do you see them selling Hitler's face, Stalin's face, Saddam Hussein's face, etc. They would not dare do that. The reason many profit from che guevara's image is because many feel he was a "revolutionary hero". What they don't know or do not care to acknowledge is that he was a murderer and a incompetent coward. Again, it all stems from the lack of sensitivity towards the Cuba cause. It's seems like the Phantom Writer is at it again. This time he complains that Cuba's performance in the Pan American Games has "engrossed" him to the point that "he forgets to eat and take his medicine." Keep up the good work Cuba. You have the full support of the "Miami Mafia." He goes on to say, "Sometimes I forget the hour of some meal, or a pill." Music to my ears to hear those words come out of his mouth. In the article he also mentions that he can not take his eyes off the television set. Great, he has the right mentality !! The more Pan AM Games he watches on his satelliteTV, the more pills and meals he will miss. Why can't the Pan Am Games be every week ?? WHY !!

In the article, it is mentions that senior Cuban officials have said that castro is recovering well, BUT no longer insist he will resume full governance of the country. I find that very interesting because they (Cuban government) have done almost a 360 from their original comments. Before everyone had hope that the bearded bastard will return. Now it's more like a "I don't think so."

4 Year Anniversary

Today marks 4 years since the death of one of the greatest singers of all-time. The singer is Úrsula Hilaria Celia Caridad Cruz Alfonso, known around the world as Celia Cruz. Our "Guarachera" was loved all over the world.

She was treated like the Queen she was with the ceremony given to her here, in Miami. I remember that day vividly. My sister, her husband, my wife, and I decided to take the Metro Rail and make the line at the Freedom Tower. When we got off the Metro Rail, the lines was about a mile long. We all looked at each other and said, "What the hell" !! We could not believe the amount of people in line. We observed the progression of the line and to our surprise, it did not move an inch in the 5 minutes we observed it !!

At that point, we decided to skip the the viewing and go straight to Gesu Catholic Church. We had to wait about 4 - 5 hours before the procession from the Freedom Tower to the church began. While we were waitingin front of the church, it was a who's who of celeberties arriving at the church. Once the procession began, the crowd started getting loud. As her hurst approcahed, the crowd went crazy. They started chanting, "Celia, Celia, Celia, Celia". People were tossing roses at the hurst as it went by. It was a great feeling to have been a part of that moment. We stayed outside with the huge mass of people and followed along with the mass they were having inside the church.

It was said the follwoing day in the news that over 75,000 people attended the viewing at the Freedom Tower.

Not surprising !! I did a search on Google in the "News" section and clicked on "Archives" where you can view, for a small fee, archived news stories. I entered in the parameters the following: cuban tugboat 1994 source: ______. In the underlined area I put for example, CNN, ABC, NBC, etc. That would let the search engine know that I wanted an article that included the words with in the parameter "cuban tugboat 1994" with a source from ______ news website. I did not get a hit from CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC. I got a hit from the New York Times, but the article was written on July 24, 1994, 11 days AFTER the massacre. I do have to say that there were some news entities that did report about the massacre the day after.

These 5 news companies mentioned above, unfortunately, are where the great majority of the U.S. and the world receive their news from. What a shame !! CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times will be referred to on this blog as "Cuba's Axis of Evil". Their reporting hinders the world from knowing the TRUTH of what transpires in Cuba.

The Tugboat Massacre of July 13, 1994

Today marks 13th anniversary of the "13 de Marzo" massacre by the Cuban government. Cuba Archive has a detailed account of what transpired that early morning and a list of all who passed away and survived. Also, there is a brief summary for each person towards the end of the document. During the day today, let's take a moment to remember our brothers and sisters who died trying to achieve what most of us have accomplished. FREEDOM !!

Deja Vu ?? I think so. It seems like the other day we demanded that Target remove from their shelves the butcher de La Cabaña CD cases . They complied, but they didn't LEARN !! Finally, someone in the press understands and get's it. I could not have said it better. So based on the definition the article gives of human rights, the Cuban government is currently violating 11.3 million and God knows how many throughout the almost half a century of hell and torture.

Speaking of the embargo, that many say it has done nothing positive, it should be mentioned that if it did not imply a problem for the totalitarian dictatorship there would be no campaign against the embargo.

'No human rights under Raul Castro'

The good ol' United Nations is at it again. Actually, this time it's the the year old Human Rights Council (HRC) branch. It's 47 members voted on June 18 to halt special human rights scrutiny of Belarus and Cuba. In other words, they are off the blacklist. For those that are not aware, Belarus and Cuba are two of the biggest human violators in the world. Can someone tell why we still fund the U.N.?

Funny thing is that the HRC mandate on their offical website includes,

"preventing human rights violations, securing respect for all human rights, promoting international cooperation to protect human rights".

Looks like the HRC just went 0-3 !! Keep up the good work !!

U.N. and Cuban government officials are worried that the production of ethanol will cause a food shortage. I am sorry did I miss something? I thought in order to have that concern you need not to have a food shortage already? This is what I am talking about - IGNORANCE. Supposedly, the United Nations should know these things. Sometimes I am asked why do you care so much about Cuba? You were born in the U.S. I say to myself, "Damn, that's an easy answer". I feel that it starts with my whole immediate family being born in Cuba and all that they went through to escape that "hell". Thanks to them I live in a free country. All the stories I have heard throughout the years have really stuck on me and the fact that many of them were lived by my family members. I feel that I have more than a connection with the caribbean's most beautiful island, it my passion. I can't wait for the day to be able to step foot on a FREE Cuba !!

I have had people tell me that I am more Cuban than actual Cubans born on the island. Go figure. Comments like that make me feel very proud of myself. (I am not coincided, LOL !!) Cuba will always be my second home, but my heart is always there. I am proud to tell anyone who asks, "Where are you from", that "I am American by birth but Cuban by blood" (thanks Alberto De La Cruz for that wonderful phrase). Cuba is my passion !! That will never change.

For those who are not aware, Steven Spielberg once said, "his dinner with (fidel) castro was the most important 8 hours of his life". This comes from a guy who has 7 kids and has been married twice.

Mr. Spielberg, you mean to tell me that those eight hours with a murderous dictator were more important than the birth of all your kids? You mean to tell me that your two weddings and honeymoons are not as important as the eight hours you spent with a human rights violator? If You should be ashamed of yourself, especially being Jewish. No one better then yourself can understand the pain and suffering one goes through when a brutal sanguinary dictator is in power.

With this I ask that everyone that read's this boycott's the movie Transformers. The only way these people learn is by hitting their pockets, were it hurts. I will not watch the movie even though I was a HUGE fan of the TV show.

Another ignorant journalist writing about Cuba's "free" healthcare. I found this article from the Kansas City Star writen by another castro healthcare supporter who just doesn't get it.

What ever happened to the era of journalism when stories where researched and investigated before putting it in print. Now a days, it's just about jumping on the bandwagon and being a follower. I wonder if Mary Sanchez, Kansas City Star columnist, has ever gone to Cuba and observed what is the REAL Cuban healthcare that the average citizen recieves? While castro send hundreds of doctors to other countries, who is treating his own people?

I guess Mary has not visited The Real Cuba and seen the horrific pictures of how castro's "free" healthcare system treats its patients.

The Phantom Writer has made another appearance. He keeps on saying in his editorials that he is fine, but where is he really? The bearded bitch has not been seen since he did a disappearing act on July 31 and made his brother Queen. Knowing what we know about Cuba and castro for many years now, do we really think that if he would be as fine as he keeps on insisting he is he would have appeared already? We are talking about a dictator who enjoys the spotlight. Any moment he gets to show up his critics and his opposition, he does it.

He postponed his 80th birthday celebrations last year until December. He was still to ill in December to celebrate. Since then he has missed key dates such as May Day (May 1). There were been talks since earlier this year that the COMAndante was just fine and giving orders through the phone, even walking around in his room. If that is the case, why hasn't he shown that to the Cuban people? On a day like May Day when you have the international spotlight and hundreds of thousands of Cubans chanting your name, if your as good as you say, why don't you stick to "The Mafia De Miami" and show them that your still ticking? The answer is simple - your still ticking, but your so gone you don't even know it.

I can't believe my eyes. Anita Snow from the AP has referred to Cuba as "communist Cuba". Also, she did not refer to dictator castro as "President". There is nothing that pisses me off more than for castro to be called "President". Nobody voted for his ass !! He is the "President" of what, dictators maybe? Hell is freezing over at this moment !! Cuba expects up to $150 million in new U.S. sales at trade

HAVANA - Communist Cuba expects to sign contracts for much as $150 million in American agricultural goods next week at the largest gathering of U.S. farm producers here since Fidel Castro fell ill last summer.

Pedro Alvarez, chairman of the island's food import company Alimport, said that talks beginning Monday should produce enough deals to ensure Cuba buys as much U.S. goods in 2007 as it did last year. About 100 American farm groups and companies from 22 U.S. states are participating, but no Nebraska delegation was organized for this event, a state spokeswoman said.
